Somatic Principles Workshop Series
This is a highly effective neuromuscular approach that consists of gentle, fluid, rocking movements (oscillations) that are mindfully practiced so that the nervous system is invited to experience a state of letting go, receptivity and safety. The manner in which we move as the therapist, and how that translates to the client, can nourish feelings of lightness, freedom, elongation, balance and ease. New neural patterns are introduced resulting in dramatic muscular relaxation, improved posture, and decreased pain. This is a gentle approach that offers deep healing and an empowered mindset. The benefits for both therapist and client are endless and the potential for skill development and career longevity is continuous and unlimited!
No oil or lubricant is used. Dress in comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.

Intro to Somatic Principles for Melting Tension Patterns 6 CE Hours
This workshop introduces basic principles of somatic movement re-education methods to reduce tension for both client and therapist. Using movement as a tool for awareness development, you will learn about various models of somatic practices and how they can greatly improve the relationship with your work and the effectiveness for clients. We will explore our own movement patterns so that we can engage with clients on a deeper level. You will learn what is referred to as reaching the nervous system. You will also practice hands-on techniques to further develop your hands-on sensitivities. It’s a great way to begin your journey into the world of somatics.
Somatic Principles for Melting Tension Patterns 16 CE Hours
Prerequisite : Intro to Somatic Principles for Melting Tension Patterns (or Intro to Trager)
Prerequisite : Intro to Somatic Principles for Melting Tension Patterns (or Intro to Trager)
After you've had the opportunity to practice and integrate some of the basic principles from the Intro, you will now learn how to apply 4 basic principles to create a full body session while continuing the focus of self care. This workshop was created to be easily accessible for massage therapists to utilize this kind of work in their already established practices. You will leave with the tools for a full somatic movement re-education session and/or to implement these new skills directly into the sessions you are already giving.
Somatic Principles for Spiral Movement Patterns 16 CE Hours
*** (waiting NCBTMB approval)***
Prerequisite : Somatic Principles for Melting Tension Patterns
This workshop is a continuation of Somatic Principles for Melting Tension Patterns. Principles of somatic movement re-education are explored in relation to movement in the spiral plane for oneself as well as our clients from a whole body perspective. We will clarify the process of learning new movement patterns and practice utilizing this process in various positions, including side lying. Tension and dysfunction patterns in the neck, shoulders and hips will be the focus of our hands-on and movement practice
