Somatic Principles for Melting Tension Patterns 16 CE Hours
This class focuses on ways to reduce tension for both client and therapist. It is based on somatic principles of movement re-education and self-care. This unique neuromuscular approach consists of gentle, fluid, rocking movements (oscillations) that lull the nervous system into a state of receptivity and safety. The manner in which we move as the therapist, nourishes feelings of lightness, freedom, flexibility, balance and ease in our clients. New neural patterns are introduced resulting in dramatic muscular relaxation, improved posture, and decreased pain. The benefits for both therapist and client are endless and the potential for skill development and career longevity is unlimited! You will have tools for almost all areas of the body to implement directly into the sessions you are already giving. No oil or lubricant used in this workshop. No prerequisites.
Trager Introductory Workshops 4 - 14 CE Hours
Introduction to Dr. Milton Trager’s approach to mind-body connection (psychophysical integration). Self care movement explorations, called Mentastics (mental-gymnastics) are the foundation for this and all Trager classes. Learn about the principles of ease and self development as tools to offer quality touch to another. Massage Therapist status not required. Anyone is welcome. Some take this course to enhance their awareness of self- care for themselves or for taking care of loved ones. Variable CE Hours offered.
Introduction to Somatic Principles for Melting Tension Patterns 6 CE Hours
Introduction to somatic principles of movement, self-care, treatment and assessment of self and others using movement awareness models from various somatic practices for Massage Therapists. We use these models to inform how we can perform massage techniques with more ease and connectivity (better body mechanics and depth). We will explore specific body mechanics for MT’s through the lens of somatic awareness and efficient movement. Movement explorations as well as hands-on ( oil and no oil) are practiced in this workshop.
